Abstract

Increasing Indonesia's economic growth is influenced by technology, human resources which is a benchmark that plays a very important role in a company so that human resources must have dignity and skills. Thus the importance of the role of human resources so that it can be said that it is an element that plays the most important role in advancing a company. Therefore, the management of the company is demanded for its ability to understand what human resource needs are so as to optimize performance which can ultimately achieve what is the goal and company goals. One of the ways taken to meet these needs is to hold employee training on an ongoing basis. The purpose of this study is: to determine the importance of the on the job tainning method in supporting employee performance, to find out what is the right on the job trainning method to support employee performance and to know the application of the on the job trainning method at PT. Pertamina (Persero). This type of research is qualitative and this research method uses descriptive research methods which describe the phenomenon or problem that is happening in the object of research. Research that takes samples from one population by interviewing as data collection techniques. Samples taken were employees at PT Pertamina (Persero) Sulutenggo branch marketing with 9 informants. While the results of this study are the on the job trainning method which is very important in supporting employee performance because training is a series of activities designed to improve the skills, knowledge, experience, or changes in the attitude of an individual, the right on the job trainning method to support employee performance, namely job rotation and the application of the on the job training method at PT. Pertamina (Persero) sulutenggo marketing branch, that is, is currently not applicable because the office only follows the policies of Pertamina's headquarters and the policy is a secret of the company.
