Abstract

the building of Pendopo Agung Politeknik Negeri Bandung is planned to be extended from 1 (one) Floor with are of 1024 m2 to become 3 floor eith the building area of 2800 m2. the first floor will be used for graduation ceremony requirement and others event. second floor will be used for seats several rooms which serve students activity room. The old building of Pendopo Agung Politeknik Negeri Bandung will not be destroyed so the old structure will be directly connected with the new structure, with addition of load above the old structure will be directly connected with the new structure. With the addition of load above the old structure it's probably will causing the old structure that is coulomn and foundation structure could not hold to bear the new load. to ensure the strength of Pendopo Agung Politeknik Negeri Manado structure it then require a building planning of upper and lower structure which is saver, economical and suitablewith the requirement needed. In this study case that will be analyzed is the old foundation structure. Fondation is a medium for passing the old from upper structure to the ground layer that should not exceeds the bearing power. if the bearing power of foundation system not exceeded, then the lowering or collapse will accured, and will cousing destruction of construction above foundation. through and precise calculation of bearing power of old foundation could not capable to bear the new working load then the old foundation should be strengthned.
